The Bible; Jesus/Judas/Mary
I have the best of friends. And by that I mean those who encouraged me to take this on as a subject for a fanmix. I sincerely hope you enjoy it because I had a ton of fun making it. Technically this is a Jesus Christ Superstar fanmix but since JCS is basically Bible fanfic I'm lumping this in the overarching Bible fandom. Yup.

| About: The inspiration for this mix came from watching the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's 2011 production of Jesus Christ Superstar (which actually turned into the 2012 Broadway revival version because it was just that epic) featuring Josh Young as Judas, Paul Nolan as Jesus and Chilina Kennedy as Mary Magdalene. The production leaned really heavily on the threesome angle. I mean, I think the original script leans on it quite a bit, but this production just emphasized it that bit further. The show is the story of Jesus in his last days, focusing particularly on Judas and Mary's parts in his life. It shows the reasons for Judas' betrayal and how it came out of a place of love rather than anything else. It follows the relationship between the three of them among other things and their importance to each other. And of course, given the story a fair number of us are familiar with, it ends in death and angst. |
