Veronica Mars; fem!Logan Echolls

This idea popped into my head and grew exponentially from there.
Logan's an intriguing character, one that hasn't been explored as a female character often. It opened it up for a lot of headcanon to flourish in this little brain of mine. I have more headcanon for her than probably fits into this mix. I could go on and on about the various intricacies of Logan as a girl, but I think I'll just proceed with the mix. It's Logan flipped, everyone else as is.

Logan Echolls is a character from the series Veronica Mars. He's Neptune High's 'obligatory psychotic jackass'. He starts of as the primary bully and a nemesis for main character Veronica, but as the show goes along it is revealed that he puts on that front because he's dealing with his girlfriend's murder and an abusive home life. He's got an unusually deep capacity for love and loyalty given what he's been through. The only real difference I see with Logan as a woman is that I think due to inherent misogyny in society, she'd push a lot harder on the 'psychotic bitch' angle. Also, I think that the Weevil & Logan interaction would have gone from witty hateful banter to reluctant allies a bit quicker. Mostly because I think Eli would have liked her a bit from the get-go. She does have a slight different feel to me than canon Logan does, and hopefully I've managed to convey that through the mix. I tried to stick to the canon of the show with just Logan's gender flipped, so I did touch on Logan's relationship with Veronica briefly, because it's such a large part of his story in the show. Ask me about her. I promise you I have more to tell you than I could possibly write here.

That pretty much happens when your dad's a successful Hollywood actor. Logan rolled her eyes at 'successful'; she really didn't think that much of her father's ability to act. Maybe it's because she saw right through him. She had friends: Duncan, Veronica and Lilly, who was a little more than that. It was enough to make her forget about what he did sometimes. They made it better. Of course once Lilly died...
Living On Your Looks ▼ Farewell Milwaukee But the years have worn you thin And you're lost out in the wind Your days are numbered my friend No we won't let you harm us with that smile	Beauty is a double-edged sword. Logan learnt that pretty quick. Being as pretty as she was got you places, but then people also expected it of you. Tabloids were vampires. What was with the obsession with celebrities' children? Or murder? Logan wasn't sure if it was Lilly or Aaron that was warranting all the scrutiny. She built up the 'psychotic bitch' persona on her own. It got you out of places.
Misunderstanding ▼ Between Borders Why don’t you behave, the way you’re suppose to? Oh it’s such a disgrace, the way you do-do-do And i can’t belive it, you're such an embarrasment oh and i can't can't do it anymore oh, you’re so misunderstading When i lose control When i lose control	She really was her father's daughter. It made her hate herself. Logan picked fights. It felt good to be on the winning side of one for once. So she got herself into more of them. She even stopped trying to hide her bruises. They made her look and feel badass. Not that her father usually left them, but it became a bonus when he did. She supposed psychotic wasn't the 'proper etiquette' for daughter of famous Aaron Echolls. It didn't make things easier for her. She didn't really care.
Bad Reputation ▼ Joan Jett A girl can do what she wants to do and that's What I'm gonna do An' I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation An' I'm only doin' good When I'm havin' fun An' I don't have to please no one	Society expects so much of women. It picks them apart when they don't live up to it. In a way, purposefully disregarding these expectations gave Logan a sense of freedom. She did what she wanted. Of course, Aaron also did what he wanted.
The Same Deep Water As Me ▼ I Am Kloot Swim out to the ocean Drown your thought out at sea And dip your hands in the water The same deep water as me	More often than not, she went surfing alone. Some days she just swam out to lie on her surfboard and think. It was the only place she could. She was so angry all the time; the ocean gave her small moments of peace.
Funhouse ▼ P!nk Pictures framing up the past Your taunting smirk behind the glass This museum full of ash Once a tickle, now a rash This used to be a funhouse But now it's full of evil clowns It's time to start the countdown I'm gonna burn it down	Aaron cheated. Her mother committed suicide. Tiny blonde sleuth (and girlfriend) Veronica Mars found Aaron as Lilly's murderer. Aaron tried to kill Veronica too. Two things he didn't even look sorry for. Logan's life abruptly shattered to pieces. Her home life had never been perfect. It still used to be fun. Now it was just a freakshow.
You Can't Win ▼ Kelly Clarkson If you're down, so ungrateful And if you're happy, why so selfish? And, you can't win No, you can't win, no The one who doesn't quite fit in Underdressed under your skin Oh, a walking disaster Everytime you try to fly You end up falling out of line, oh You can't can't win, no	She couldn't win. Not with her father and now not with Veronica. Sure a lot of it probably was her fault, but couldn't she be given some slack? Her mother was dead, her father was in jail and her life had become a public mess. Did that not give her something? Did she really have to be happy all the time? Wasn't she guaranteed a few get out of jail free cards? She was starting to think she'd never win at all.
Guilty ▼ Marina & The Diamonds Oh I'm a guilty one And know what I have done Yeah, I'm a troubled one And I won't be forgiven Then suddenly, it all becomes clear. I've been sorry all these years.	She carried so much guilt. Guilt over Lilly, over her family, over what happened to her and Veronica. She was suffocating under the weight of it. Somewhere along the line she realized none of it was her fault.
I Feel It All ▼ Feist I'll be the one who'll break my heart I'll be the one to hold a gun I know more than I knew before	She'd learned from her mistakes. Or so she thought. Somehow that didn't make much difference. She still made mistakes; heck she still fucked everything up. Her problems with Veronica were her fault. And knowing that hurt like hell.
Accidntel Deth ▼ Rilo Kiley And the skin you call your home Holds a heart that quits and knees that buckle in And lungs that can't breathe when they're alone	Maybe she wasn't who she thought she was. Maybe she really was the jackass persona she acted out. Maybe it didn't matter. She liked herself better this way. Bitch with a heart of gold suited her.
